Ray Beachey
Professor Ray Beachey was a distinguished historian who spent many years attached to Makerere University in Uganda, where he served as a Professor of History [p. 99].
A native of Canada, Beachey returned there to serve as a Professor of History at Waterloo University in Ontario. He remained in this position until his retirement in 1981, after which he moved to Hampshire, England.
Throughout his career, Beachey authored a wide variety of journals and magazines. His other published books include The French Revolution and the Coming of Napoleon, On Greatness: A Symposium, The African Diaspora and East Africa, and The Slave Trade of Eastern Africa.
At the time of this book's publication, Beachey was also engaged in preparing a two-volume academic work entitled The Foundations of British East Africa.
